Heat exchanger leak on used Hanse 455 common issue?

I just picked up a used Hanse 455 and, wouldn't you know it, I found some signs of saltwater seepage in the transmission. Turns out the heat exchanger has a tiny crack. I'm really curious, how common is this issue with older Hanse models? Also, are there any upgrades or maintenance tips you guys would recommend to help prevent problems like this in the future?

That heat exchanger crack isn't unheard of on older Hanse models, especially if maintenance was spotty. Have you thought of swapping in a better aftermarket unit? And keep an eye on zincs. They get overlooked way too often.
