I'm curious if anyone has a 2023 North Sails Easy Furling gennaker on their Hanse 371. I've matched mine with a Facnor 2500 top-down furler. I'd love to hear how it's working for you, any setup tips, or just what you've learned while using it

Hey there, I don't have that exact setup on a Hanse 371, but I've been running a North Sails Easy Furling gennaker with a different model on my boat for a couple of seasons now.
The key for me was getting the halyard tension just right.
If it's too loose, it's a mess. If too tight then it's hard to unfurl.
Also, make sure your tack line allows for a bit of play, or the furling can be a real struggle, especially if there's any wind.
I found that leading the furling line back to the cockpit through a dedicated fairlead made a huge difference for solo handling.
It's a great sail once you dial it in!

I'd be a little concerned about how smoothly the Facnor 2500 handles in higher winds, have you noticed any snags or issues furling under load with that setup on your 371?

I helped a buddy of mine set up that same combo on his, and while it mostly works, it took some fiddling to get it right. The Facnor 2500 can be a bit picky. It's decent once everything's dialed in, but it's not exactly plug-and-play. Definitely route the furling line to the cockpit early on, that saved us a lot of frustration later.
